Vision:
A community of scholars
and artists working to sustain themselves responsibly (without
slaves).
Goals:
Immediate
(to 3 years):
1) To
buy a small piece of land in order to cement the core group into
a cohesive entity.
2) To
prepare and plant biointensive garden beds.
3) To
recruit a core group
of roughly 10 community members by
September 2008.
4) To
build simple, inexpensive, but beautiful buildings within
first 2 years after we move to the land and not obsess about "my
house" ever again.
5) To
decide and implement a
legal structure.
6)
To
dec
ide and implement written agreements concerning forms of
decision- making, healthy communication skills,
methods for conflict resolution,
ways of
keeping group members accountable, and
ways for admitting new
members.
Medium range
(3-5 years)
1) To
be 100% food self-sufficient.
2) To
provide for all our needs locally without having to buy anything
from the global economy
Long range
1) To
grow to an ecologically and psychologically appropriate size
and then to bud off other communities..
2) To
engage in creative activities,
create a radically
different culture, have
fun, be healthy, do outreach, feel connected to each other
and the world, and govern ourselves.
