We
should have quite a bit that needs saying related to this
subject, hence it's own contents page. We want to keep the
required gardening work to an
absolute minimum,
perhaps as little as only two to three full days a month.
If you have a successful trade or steady income and think you
can interest/hire a gardener type to take your place, that's
okay too. (Note, the minimum point wages can start at will equal
the "employers" own rate of earning power. This is one
of our few "egalitarian" laws, generally speaking we are
not, nor do we believe in, strict egalitarianism or income
sharing. We believe people need more freedom and incentive
than strict egalitarianism offers.
As for
farmer types, who might want to earn part or all of their living
in aquiculture, as might be required, we want to have all the land they might
need or desire, to
cultivate or pasture.
One
wouldn't have to be a gardener fanatic for sure, however if one
couldn't afford to hire someone to take ones place, one would be
expected to be a willing, , helpful,
cooperative, thorough, efficient, speedy, and
cheerful participant. And one
who knows, believes in, and appreciates this unique opportunity
to consistently enjoy the health and pleasure of having one's
own fresh picked fruits and vegetables to eat the year round at
so low a cost in terms of time or money.
Here is a
rough calculation of how little labor it would take to grow
a bunch of vegetables and a bit of meat.
