What Next

Prologue: If you understand what we are saying, if you "get it", and want to work with us to make this happen, you almost don't need to read further. You will see what needs to be done and you will start doing it. You may also know too, that a great deal of communicating and discussing is involved in something like this. Not everyone will want to tackle all tasks, of course. Choose what interests you most. Yet, at this point in time, the primary job is to find 8 to 10 people willing to devote a considerable amount of their time, in order for this common vision to manifest.

If you are in agreement with the values we are basing this community on and resonate with the overall vision please let us know more specifically how and why. We will be glad to read whatever you've written, are writing now or what you have to say.  It is most important, first, to know we are in agreement about the values. And secondly, mutually understand what the overall vision and goals this community would be founded on, before we start talking about specific details on how or where we are going to do it.

There should be quite a bit to talk about. This proposal is unique in both size and the values and goals it is based upon. As far as we know, only a few intentional communities have combined individual freedom and incentive with a strong communal base, such as we propose. Is it bizarre? Are we crazy? We think it might be a breakthrough. And given the dire predictions for humanity's future, we think this concept offers a realistic and practical solution to humanity's looming crisis (though we would propose this way of living in the "best of times" as well).  We are not "survivalists", on the other hand we obviously think surviving is a good thing.J

Even if you don’t have the capital resources to contribute to this project financially, there is much you can do as well, either individually or as a member of the founding team.

• Find others who are interested in living this way.
• Help write and send formal requests or grants for funding
• Join our Yahoo Group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/precioustimecommune and participate in the conversation
• Find a land trust to base the community on
• Research different locations around the country
• Learn about the various legal aspects of this project
• If not labor, you could send us money
• Edit website writing and other writing for clarity and accurateness
• Correspond/communicate with others who have contacted us
• Write magazine articles and letters to the editor about this community idea
• Write/create content for the website
• Network on the internet
• Place ads in alternative publications for this proposal and or the web URL
• Feedback,tell us what you think; what you think is wrong... and right
• Create a more artistic or professional or simpler website
• Tell us how you'd like to help
• Read related books and do reviews for the "reading list"

It's not that we want to discourage anyone, it's just that many people merely want to talk about change, not create it. Many do not have the passion of conviction or the driving force of need, necessary to make something like this happen. Many are unwilling to read what we are saying or what anybody else has to say about the very important issues which constitute the values this community is founded upon. People who are uninformed (and have little desire to be informed), uneducated (self educated is fine), completely self centered with no concern for the world's future or compassion for others, would just not work in this community.

We particularly need at this time a small (8 to 10) group of visionaries to work together with us now to make this happen within a year and a half. The stability of our economy and inflation actually concern us more than Peak Oil, though the two are related. Also establishing an optimally healthy lifestyle for ourselves and the other members of this community is of a major concern.
     
                                             

If you cannot, for one reason or another, help in any way now, but would potentially like to live in such a community, let us know and we’ll put you in a list to notify down the line when the community is created and we are simply looking for members.

Note:  one idea/requirement, is for new members to help build the next residential building, once they determine they wish to stay.
